Season’s Greatings

We hope you have had a great 2010 and are planning to make 2011 a great year as well. As the country takes a break (hopefully you do too) many business owners start planning for 2011.

The break is a good time to look at the year that has past and start planning for the year ahead. A few things to do for 2011;

  • Try and do your figures before you go away for the break so you know what you have achieved so far this year
  • Make a list of key goals for new year (5 – 20 items)
  • Split this list into sub tasks
  • Delegate as much of the work to you team
  • Review your marketing plan (or create one of you don”t have one)

No matter what your plans we wish you all the best for the 2011 calendar year. If you need any help make sure you check out Small Business Accountants

Interest Rates & The exchange rate

Well the Reserve bank has increased interest rates again, unfortunately it’s not too suprising with the Australian dollar so strong. So what does it mean for Australian Small Businesses?

The Australian retail traders association is expecting a very slow Christmas trading period and i woudl suggest that Businesses in retail trade as well as hospitality should have contingency plans in place incase they are affected. (ie don’t over stock and set flexible rosters to keep costs low)

Anyway hopefully the interest rates and high exchange rates don’t effect you and your business to severely.

Australian Small Business

Welcome to Australian Small Business run by a team of Small Business Accountants we hope to develop the site into an open resource for all Australian Small Businesses. Please feel free to let us know what you the Australian Small Business Community need from us.

The Australian Small Business Environment

After the GFC, Rudd and the last election the business environment still seems quite confused with some Small Businesses really starting to pull ahead this year while other industries continue to suffer. The high Australian Dollar will leave many exporters in a lot of trouble for some time, a few of our clients have already indicated unless the AUD returns to it’s normal range soon they may be out of business in as little as a month.

With the Aussie dollar not looking like going anywhere soon this is a worrying indication as Australia still relies heavily on exports, particularly to Asia to drive economic growth.

Well untill next time it’s good bye from Australian Small Business remember we have access to a range of expert resources so if you do need help please let us know!
